How to get your final certificate: (maximally 12 "Bonuspunkte" in total)
- See the seminar schedule
to spot the articles that you have to read and download them from the literature website..
- There will be an introductory session for each topic. ALL attendees are expected to read the textbook / review articles listed for these sessions, which won't be lectures but plenary discussions. So, be prepared to answer (basic) questions on the contents of the chapters / review articles.
- To prepare your own talk, you get one original article covering your topic and sometimes an additional short comment on the article. Read and try to understand the papers.
- There might be "Supplementary Material" for your article. If so, it will be referred to in the text. Make use of this additional material. From inside the KIT network, it will be accessible through the website of the corresponding journal (URLs provided in the text).
- Seek the help of your respective advisor in case you don't understand everything.
- Prepare a 20min PowerPoint presentation / talk about the crucial points of the original article (and be prepared for a 20min discussion).
- Meet your advisor at least for a final revision of your PowerPoint presentation before delivering your talk.
- Attend all session of the seminar (otherwise bring a medical certificate or you have to go to detention in our Journal Club or next semester).
- You are expected to participate in the discussions after the individual presentations. If you don't contribute to discussions, you won't get your certificate.
